Finlay’s Horticulture Ltd is WFOE owned by the Swire Group( private side) based in London. Finlay’s is one of the world’s largest producers, processors and marketers of fresh vegetables and flowers predominantly bound for the high streets of the UK ,Europe and Scandinavia.Finlay’s Mt Kenya is one of four production bases in Africa.The position entailed leading a team of three General Managers, numerous section, production and farm managers and 3000 permanent staff .As Regional General Manager i had complete corporate and financial responsibility and management oversight on all production and processing sites in Northern Kenya.

Rest Of Yunnan, China

Established in 2007 Yunnan Taikoo Flowers Ltd is a WFOE engaged in growing, processing and marketing flowers in Songming, Yunnan, China for the international market, predominantly Japan.The project included a joint venture with Hilverda Kooji of Holland producing in excess of 13 million cuttings for the world market annually.A purpose built plant tissue laboratory was commissioned in 2009 producing 650 thousand plants per year.Taikoo employed in excess of 250 permanent staff and 100 contractors and casuals.As the founding Director and General Manager in China my role was to deliver the project.Responsibilities included;• Complete corporate governance and management • Company registration and construction• All government negotiations • Domestic and international marketing and development• Agronomic management and planning.• Bureaucratic and governmental liaison• Strategic planning, development, construction and expansion.• Budgeting and Financial control• Human resource management• All local, provincial and international contractual negotiations• Infrastructural development including construction of pack-houses, plant tissue laboratory, greenhouses , water supply and reticulation systems.• daily operational control.
