Development of the Land Vehicle Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) capability as a key data source to support advancements in Defence Asset Management.

Operating as the Program Manager I am responsible to the Director of Systems Engineering and Integration for the successful implementation of the Vehicle Health and Usage Monitoring System capability within the ADF Land environment.

I managed RODUM pertaining to soldier combat protective equipment and I conducted technical assessment of manufacture’s tendered samples bases on DEFAUST Standards.

Full restructure of the Technical Regulation of ADF Material Manual - Land.

Main functions - Responsible for providing solutions to users of the CMMS employed in the Defence Land environment. This is achieved by resolving integration issues between policy, business process and managements' strategic intent.

Develop requirement statements for a CMMS to support the maintenance of land material in the ADF.Contribute of the development and endorsement of system design documents.As the Army SME provide advice to command on the suitability of developed solutions. Manage initial functional testing.Represent the maintenance stream at Change Management forums, Integrated Planning Team meetings, training development and procedural document development working groups.

Introduce into service the Forward Logistics Management System.Provide level one/two helpdesk support for Computerised Maintenance Management System problem resolution. Facilitate business process development for Land asset maintenance management.Develop Maintenance and Engineering reporting for Defence Land Materiel Management.

Develop the Training Management Plans, training packages and assessment criteria for the delivery of training on the Defence corporate Computerised Maintenance Management Systems to military students undergoing Initial Employment Training and promotional courses through to Warrant Officer.During the same year I delivered 65 instructor lead training days to Defence personnel on the use the Mincom Ellipse Maintenance and Operations module as part of the Standard Defence Supply Systems upgrade to Ellipse Version 4.

Responsible to the Commanding Officer for the delivery of an effective maintenance program against a range of equipment which included: excavation and earth moving plant form JD450 to Komatsu D155, water purification and storage equipment, M113A1 Light Armoured Vehicles, mine detection and clearance assets, Mack 'R' Series cargo and dump coupled with Haulmark 20T dog trailers, International S-line and Haulmark 60T Heavy Plant Transporter, Mercedes UNIMOG U1700 series, Land Rover 110 4X4 and 6X6, generators 0.5kW - 120kW, personal and crew served weapon systems, individual and vehicle mounted communications systems.The maintenance was performed in the field from the back of repair vehicles or in a modern workshop (built in 1998) which included a 15T overhead crane, two 20 metre servicing ramp, battery shop, tools and part stores, electrical /electronic and communications repair section, machinery/fabrication and welding facilities, heavy vehicle recovery section, and 14 individual vehicle inspection and repair bays.

With an annual budget of $5M manage local trade repair and the provision of locally procured repair parts in support of the 1st Brigade and all visiting and local independent Defence units.Establish and manage the 1st Brigade In-house Maintenance Contract won by BAe Systems Australia.
