I would hold meetings with all stakeholders, supply reports and Gantt charts so that clear communication could be maintained at all times. My position here has been made redundant due to Bloomfield changing the focus of the Kings overhauls workshop. During this time, we overhauled, Road headers, shuttle cars, feeder breakers & continuous miners.

    I was employed to oversee the overhauls of underground coal mining equipment. My role included managing all components of the contract, ensuring that the budget was met or bettered and the machine was delivered on time. I would provide daily plans for supervisors, liaise with all departments (fabrication, electrical, mechanical, & engineering) to ensure progress to the plan. I run weekly meetings with the customer, detailing progress and discuss issues that may have arisen. Any variations to the contract was my responsibility to quote and submit to the customer. I would develop a BOM and was responsible for the procurement of all parts (using Jobpac) and arranging contractors on / off site to repair components. This would include meeting with suppliers and working out solutions when they were not meeting our requirements. I would produce a Gantt chart and hold progress report meetings with senior management. I would arrange monthly invoicing for all projects. All of my projects have been profitable.This role expanded to include repairs, maintenance and overhaul of the company hire fleet of underground coal mining equipment. I would ensure work orders were raised and completed with relevant documentation attached, on the company CMMS (Mainpac). The role further expanded to managing the repairs and maintenance on the company diesel fleet of LHD’s and man transporters. This included quoting on post hire repairs, ordering parts and overseeing contractors. I assisted with the development of the RSF paper work and ensured that the workshop met the requirements under AS3584.3 (Diesel Engine Systems for Underground Coal Mines)The role also included coaching of supervisors and trades in safety, quality and environment through tool toolbox talks and one on one. Development of SWMS and risk assessments. Monitoring and adhering to company policies and practices and performance management of employees.

    I started as a casual fitter assembling and commissioning new OEM mining machinery. Industrea manufactured diesel powered machinery for use in underground coal mines. I would use my hydraulic and electrical diagnostic skills to repair faults found during commissioning. Within six month I was promoted to leading hand. This role included overseeing multiple trades, apprentices and subcontractors, implementing daily work plans & managing time sheets. I was then promoted to Team Leader overseeing the assembly of new equipment. This role included the development of a positive team culture while ensuring company safety KPI’s were met. Managing workshop disputes and performance. Preparation of daily and weekly work plans. The “just in time” procurement of parts on the BOM to assemble the machines. Working with suppliers for the best price and on time delivery of parts. Development of assembly drawings and commissioning procedures for new models. Quality control of procured components and overall product. Running daily prestart meetings, and occasional tool box talks. Ensure that the tooling and consumables budget was kept in check. During the assembly of new products, I would work with the engineering team by offering solutions to design problems found during assembly and commissioning. I was required to have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including “project”. I was trained to use “Pronto”, the software the company used for all of its , accounting, parts and labour management.
