Hello, G'day and Kia ora!!My name is Mick. An Aussie import since 2003. I'm a certified sommelier by trade (WSET) with 30+ years of tuition in the wine industry. I've been an avid and proud constituent of the Central Otago wine region now for two decades and I’m delighted to have contributed to the front line of its cellar doors, to have assisted behind the scenes in its wineries, and to have shed blood and sweat amongst it's many vineyards over the years. As luck would have it, a later shift in career to wine / adventure tourism has afforded me the extended pleasure of showcasing this rediculously gobsmaking region (in all its glory) to thousands of wine and adventure enthusiasts from every corner of the globe.In conjunction with tourism, I also have a passion for wine education. I independently conduct tailor-made wine training programs for front line service (hospitality and tourism) staff here in the Lakes District region. Additionally, I recently took on a part time role teaching wine studies to the students at QRC (Queenstown Resort College), assisting them toward their pursuit of a Diploma in Hotel Management.As a side project, I curate a fully licensed, online wine retail outlet. My eCommerce website (www.onsitewine.co.nz) exhibits a rare and prestine collection of iconic New Zealand wines. Each bottle has been hand selected directly from the cellars of some of the finest producers in Aotearoa 🍇🍷🇳🇿Outside of work, I enjoy the odd round of golf and exploring the local walking trails. I’m also the luckiest dad of THE most wonderful children in the world and their amazing mother is my life, my love and my best friend ❤️Cheers🥂
