At that time, the Wisconsin paper industry was the dominant supplier of paper products to the world. The mentality of my generation was that the industry would always be there. Unfortunately, none of us had as of then heard of the internet, email and paperless publishing!As the industry has evolved, the niche which I've developed my career around, process engineering and optimization, has become ever more important as our industry continues to shrink. The industry has gone commodity based. Hence, for a mill to survive, it has become necessary to improve efficiency in the manufacturing process, including improved utilization of raw materials.Paper Chemistry Solutions evolved out my experience with Beloit Corporation in the 1990"s.
