Since I got my Master's degree from the university in 1999, I have worked with AI, natural language processing (NLP) and search technologies in many different ways - as a developer and solution architect, as a project manager, as technical product manager, as agile product owner, as middle manager and as IT management consultant. It all started decades ago when I developed a search engine for highly annotated language corpora for linguists with needs to do complex queries not only for keywords but for grammatical features too as part of their research. From then on I have been hooked on trying to help people make sense of large volumes of natural language. I have done that in many ways - working with digital dictionaries, compiling (and developing tools for annotating) text, speech and multimedia corpora, developing machine translation tools (computer-aided translation), implementing enterprise search / semantic search / question-answering systems (incl. chatbots), as IT management consultant, as IT project manager, as agile product owner and as (technical) product manager. I've done my fair share of production and talent management too to keep shareholders and coworkers happy. What drives me is a keen interest in finding and solving problems worth solving - and doing it in efficient and innovative ways together with other skilled and motivated people.
