An unconventional career That is how I describe my path. It started out common enough, earning a degree in Accounting from the U of M, Duluth and accepting a position that consulted on "computerizing" Finance and Accounting departments by installing Great Plains accounting system into companies where at the time paper processes dominated.After leaving the consulting world I started working as the “junk drawer” for an advertising agency. I handled everything that needed to be done to provide the time and focus for the owners to build their company.After 5 years, I joined Associated Financial Group as the Accounting Manager. This is where my career started down the unconventional accounting path. Here too, I worked with the two owners to identify how best to leverage my talent to help them grow their business. This is where I jumped to operations. 15 years later, I am responsible for the client service teams which are responsible for taking care of our thousands of clients, providing specialized resources through actuarial services, human resources consulting, IT, and client technology solutions and representing our firm with our insurance carrier partners.
