An alumni and graduate of Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-ARC), Mickey Walker has over 25 years of work experience in the United States, Australia and New Zealand.Shortly after graduating, Mickey began at the offices of Offenhauser/Mekeel Architects. There he worked on various projects including the restoration of the historic Millard House by Frank Lloyd Wright in Pasadena and the redevelopment of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences office building in Beverly Hills.Immigrating to Australia in 1986, Mickey worked with several offices specialising in bespoke custom residential projects. In 2007, he immigrated to New Zealand to take up a position at Ignite Architects. As Associate Director, Mickey is currently the lead designer and project architect on the redevelopment of a significant retail/commercial tower in Auckland’s central business district and a new cafe/restaurant development on the beach front in Takapuna.Mickey is a design-focused architect who has excellent communication and leadership skills. His ability to manage projects from initial client engagement to post completion makes him a key contributor to any successful design and execution.
