Mickie Hayes was the Director (Retired) of the Florida Consortium on Postsecondary Education and Intellectual Disabilities. She has a Master’s Degree in Education and is certified in Learning Disabilities/Severe Behavior Disorders. Previously, she was a Coordinator of Disability Services, Learning Disability Specialist, and adjunct instructor in remedial reading and writing at Hillsborough Community College in Florida. She was also an Ohio high school SLD teacher for 12 years. As Director of the Consortium, Mickie provided technical assistance and training for both established programs and developing programs for students with intellectual disabilities transitioning to postsecondary education throughout Florida. Recently, Mickie was part of the AHEAD/Think College Task Force, where she co-wrote the online module "Accessing Disability Services." She created the attached video to help Disability Services Office professionals collaborate with the Postsecondary Programs for Students with Intellectual Disabilities. Inclusive Programs for students with ID are developing on college campuses throughout the country, and the intention of this video is to clarify the roles and responsibilities of both the DS office and ID program staff and their supports for students with ID.
