Working as a Global Recruitment Specialist for the Dimension Data Global Head Office provided me with opportunities to work with smart and inspiring people from Johannesburg to New York via Santa Clara & Reston, with a few stops across Singapore, London, Sydney & Melbourne – not forgetting Belgium, Germany, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands. As a Senior Recruitment Specialist I supported the business in realising it’s strategic objectives by assisting with the full life cycle of recruitment to support dynamic business growth.I performed all the elements of professional and administrative recruiting functions in support of identifying, interviewing, evaluating and selecting qualified employees to effectively meet the organisation’s talent requirements.

In this role I worked with the Internal Recruitment team to assist the business in finding the best people to take it into the future.

I was involved in Software sales which involved: cold calling new clients and building new relationships, maintaining relationships with existing clients; keeping abreast of market trends and client needs to ensure every possible opportunity was explored; and recognising opportunities at clients as they arrived and converting these opportunities into sales.

As an Account Manager for the IT Resourcing Division, my main job function was to maintain and grow my existing contractor base in the current client base I had and growing that client base.

I started initially as a Marketing Coordinator for the Consulting business unit and within a year moved to the Networking division. For the last two years I was in charge of marketing and events coordination for the Multiservice Networking (MSN) division of Dimension Data.

I started with the company as an installation consultant and within 6 months I moved into the training department and ran all the software training courses both in South Africa and Africa.
