At INM, I spearheaded a data transformation project across the entire digital business. This involved working closely with the editorial, marketing, and sales teams, as well as with senior management, to develop a data strategy and subsequently implementing that strategy. This included:• Evangelizaton of data and data-driven methodologies across business units• Modeling of the digital business model from content to revenue, enabling meaningful data-driven business development and target setting• A comprehensive audit of data collection and data storage• Bringing in new tools and technologies to modernize the INM data infrastructure• Creation of the first machine-learning based content recommendation strategies on independent.ie• Design and Development of an extensive set of daily and real-time web-based dashboards• Development of product requirements for a Single View of the Customer that unifies CRM and behavioral data from a wide variety of sources• Line and functional management of two reportsDuring my time at INM, I was also involved in a number of data journalism projects on both the digital and print platforms. This included the local elections in 2014, the general election in 2016, the yearly school rankings supplement in the Sunday Independent and a number of one off pieces on a wide variety of topics ranging from player statistics in the rugby world cup to the analysis of alcohol consumption in Ireland over the last 100 years.

As a product manager in the Amdocs Big Data & Strategic Innovation (BDSI) Business Unit I was focused on the development of the road map of Big Data Analytics use cases for telecommunications. My duties included: • Working with other business units to develop their big data analytics strategy• Performing ideation with domain experts to find and explore new use cases• Development of use cases from idea to detailed product requirements• Working with R&D to define requirements for Amdocs big data analytics platform• Evaluation of third party vendors and their technologyI also held the position of co-chair of the TM Forum Big Data Analytics workgroup, which I was involved in founding. In this role I led the standardization of a reference model for big data analytics and the development of a catalog of big data analytics use cases that telecommunication providers can implement with that model. I received a TM Forum outstanding contributor award in February 2014 for my contribution to this work.

Amdocs is the market leading provider of software and services for billing, CRM, and OSS to the telecommunications industry. I started in the Amdocs Customer Innovation Centre as a research group leader, managing a team of researchers and software engineers to deliver data analytics projects and predictive analytics solutions to telecommunications providers. My duties included: • Product owner for core data analytics algorithms and Hadoop-based infrastructure platform• Responsible for technology transfer from innovation centre to development teams• Coordinated prototype and PoC development for customer use cases• Completed key research in customer behavior analytics for recommendation and prediction• Conducted data analytics projects for tier-0 and tier-1 telecommunications providers• Filed patents related to predictive analytics• Line management of five reports including goal setting and performance reviewsIn 2012 I was promoted to manager of the customer innovation centre, taking on additional responsibilities to those I had as research group leader. • Project management for customer facing data analytics projects• Interpreting analytics results and communicating them to customers• Working with product management and account teams to build new business propositions• Evangelizing data analytics, machine learning, & personalization internally and externally• Coordinating patent strategy across the business unit

STI Innsbruck is an internationally renowned ICT research centre for semantic technologies. I worked as a researcher at STI while conducting my doctoral thesis, with a focus on software engineering methodologies and their application to modeling Web services.• Performed research on data interoperability, large scale reasoning, and service modeling• Over twenty accepted conference, workshop, and journal papers• Authored two textbooks on Semantic Web Services• Elected co-chair of the OASIS SEE standardization group in 2009• Worked in European FP6 & FP7 projects, including SEEMP, SHAPE, LarKC, and SEALS• Scientific, administrative, and financial coordination of research and industrial partners• Impact Director in the LarKC project coordinating all dissemination and exploitation activities• Involved in the acquisition of approximately 3 million euro of funding for STI Innsbruck • Attended hearing and negotiation meetings with the European Commission• Sat on the steering committee of STI providing input into the direction of the institute• Led the development of the WSMT open source toolkit for creating SWS descriptions• Active developer of seven different open source development projects• Completed my doctoral thesis entitled "MEMOS: A Methodology for Modeling Services"At STI Innsbruck I also held the position of Senior Software Architect. STI International is an umbrella organisation established to coordinate activities across the Semantic Web community. It is made up of partners from both academia and industry. In early 2007 I became involved in the foundation of STI International and took on the role of defining a clear brand for the organization. • Liaised with graphical designers to create the STI logo• Designed marketing collateral and templates for presentations and documents• Worked with STI member organizations to roll out branding• Involved in the organization of the annual European Semantic Web Conference

DERI Galway is an Irish government funded ICT research centre with a focus on semantic technologies. I was employed as a full-time researcher in DERI while working on my Masters degree at the National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG).• Researcher on the Science Foundation Ireland funded DERI Lion project • Active in a number of working groups focused on Semantic Web Service (SWS) research• Involved in submissions to both W3C and OASIS standardization bodies• Secretary of the OASIS Semantic Execution Environment (SEE) technical committee• Author of workshop papers, journal papers and book chapters• Active developer in open source development projects for Semantic Web Services• Completed my Masters thesis in visualization of WSMO ontologies
