About Michael Snell

I believe there are three simple ingredients for a successful enterprise transformation recipe: • Ambition – a laser focus on where value is going to be created • Ability – the ability to rewire the organisation so that it makes better decisions • Appetite – excite and empower the business to do things differently Many large organisations are facing continuous disruption, they’ve recognised that their existing strategy, systems and structures aren’t nimble enough to mobilise the talent and technology needed. Most know they need to change, but often the result is a form of organisational whack-a-mole – futile attempts at trying to swat at problems as they pop-up without addressing the root cause. Ultimately, this needs to stop as they will fail. This is where a Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) can help – playing a role in ensuring that strategic initiatives are not overshadowed by daily operations. As a CTO, I'm a partner in developing strategy and act as a guide between today and the future. Most importantly, it’s about influence, not control, empowering business leaders to take ownership of change. I dive into business architecture, service design, revenue and costs to identify what needs to change. I focus on the gap between initiatives and individuals – through communication, and a focus on changing mindsets and behaviours to help people change. The transport sector is undergoing a once-in-a-generation shift. Disruption today is more than just changes in technology, or customer expectations, or competition — it’s all of them, all at once. I’m excited about the opportunities to redefine the way we move people and goods. Reshaping the future of transport (mobility) is a delicate balance of ensuring safe, reliable service continuity with disruptive opportunities - 1. Leading organisations to reimagine the transport ecosystem and their role within it. This is essential to partnering in new and creative ways. 2. Driving the focus from assets to customer experience (cx) is also a critical early step. Understanding customers and their needs is essential to service design. 3. Leveraging a deep understanding of IT/OT convergence and digitalisation to unlock the true potential of our transport systems - automation, advanced analytics, and IoT, can enable predictive maintenance, optimise routes, and improve safety and reliability. When I'm not leading transformation, I relax by spending time with family & friends on Brisbane's bayside. I am always eager to connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about making a difference.

Listed skills include Aviation, Air Traffic Control, Operations Management, Airlines, and 22 others.
