The Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) is a flagship initiative by the Indian government focused on enhancing urban infrastructure, including water supply, sewage systems, stormwater drainage, green spaces, and urban transport. The mission aims to improve the quality of life for urban residents through capacity building and urban reform initiatives.As a Water and Wastewater Internship Trainee with the State Mission Management Unit of AMRUT, I was actively involved in:-Assisting in planning and executing water supply and wastewater projects, with an emphasis on detailed project documentation and data analysis to support decision-making.-Monitoring water supply projects for 94 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) across 14 districts of Kerala, ensuring timely and effective project execution in line with AMRUT’s objectives.- Tracking progress and evaluating ongoing projects using project monitoring software, analyzing performance metrics, and verifying the accuracy of Detailed Project Reports (DPR).- Conducting field visits to assess and validate the on-ground water supply and wastewater management project implementation, providing feedback to improve outcomes.- Facilitating communication between project teams and local authorities, coordinating efforts to address challenges, and ensuring project goals were met.- Developing and presenting reports on project progress, challenges, and recommendations to senior management for informed decision-making.
