Mie Frey Damgaard is a Copenhagen based artist and illustrator. She graduated from Design Academy Eindhoven i 2010. Since then she has worked with a wide selection of clients and with her artistic work.The core in her art is to create a bridge between her two working methods - her work as an illustrator and and her art. In her artistic work Mie works with magazines and books in which her illustrations have been printed. She transforms the magazine when the function and lifetime as a magazine is over. The magazine is divided, torn, cut and folded into a 3D element that is incorporated into her final art pieces.She has worked with a wide selection of clients, amongst others Egmont Magazines, Universal Music, Sticks’n’Sushi, Gyldendal and University of Copenhagen. She works with a conceptual approach to illustration and graphic design.
