The Vandersall Collective serves churches, faith-based organizations, and other non-profit entities as they imagine, identify, and implement their call for the 21st century. The Collective brings together a range of skill sets and gifts across the spectrum of needs that may arise for our clients, from fundraising consulting and implementation to media training, from the need to repurpose buildings to the need to assess and reassess cultures of worship. Clients include: the Nevelson Chapel at Saint Peter's Church, Park Avenue Christian Church, St. Lyidia's Dinner Church, Q Christian Fellowship and Music that Makes Community.

Out of Order is a groundbreaking feature documentary revealing the complex and painful struggles faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) faith leaders as they confront entrenched bigotry and work to build loving support within their churches.

Conceptualized and implemented the creation of this progressive, arts-based community which meets several times a month. This community has been featured in the New York Times and also Presbyterians Today as one of the emerging, new worshiping communities reaching those previously hurt or uninterested in the church. Works to provide pastoral care, organization, and vision for the growth and sustainability of this community.

Worked with clients to plan and implement major donor programs, online crowdsourcing campaigns, grantwriting, event organization, communication, grantmaking, board development and organizational capacity-building. Coaches and cheerleads non-profits, congregations and religious leaders as they work to fund their ministries based out of a deep knowledge of the particular exhilaration and stress of working for long-term structural change and beginning and sustaining programs.

Taught intensive courses on fundraising, board development and organizational growth.

Preached and presided while the Pastor was on sabbatical. Provided consistency for congregation and helped assist the sabbatical experience for the congregation.

Envisioned and implemented the creation of three highly successful programs: the Future Pastors Retreat, which has nurtured over 100 LGBTQ leaders in the Presbyterian Church, Not So Churchy, a new worshiping community which has caught the attention of the denomination as a model for new emerging congregations, and our Youth Program for LGBTQ and allied young people in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and beyond--the first of its kind. Grew our budget from $125,000 to $325,000. Implemented fundraising program with multiple revenue streams including foundation support, major donor campaigns, congregational support, planned giving, crowdsourcing, and end of year campaigns. Increased Member Congregations from 13 to 20. Managed relationships with said congregations and helped them live into what it means to be a "welcoming" congregation of LGBTQ people. Extensive experience hiring and supervising staff. Created a comprehensive volunteer and internship program. Implemented extensive changes in accounting structures, IRS documentation and reporting, insurance, and fiscal management in general. Led the organization through two strategic planning processes, transitions in board structure and leadership. Recruited new board members and changed the culture of board giving. In addition to my extensive administrative experience, the greatest joy of my work has been in service as a Pastor to many LGBTQ people and others who have ambivilant relationships with the institutionalized church.

Raised annual budget, filed multiple years of back IRS documentation, coordinated the work of the Steering Committee, and organized and implemented annual conferences of 100 people each in Louisville, KY and Tucson, AZ, and feminist pro-active presence at two General Assembly meetings.

Worked with and organized religious communities fighting sweatshop abuse in Latin America. Organized vigils, protests, and letter-writing campaigns across the country. Supervised interns and volunteers. Coordinated and led an exploratory college-student trip throughout Central America where we investigated the factories where clothing is made that is for export to the U.S. market and then exposed several factories who were producing clothing for the U.S. colleges and universities.
