Miguel Ángel García-Fuentes holds a Ph.D. in Architecture (2020) from the University of Valladolid. In 2012, he joined the CARTIF Technology Centre, where he has carried out research activities, coordinated international projects, and engaged in management tasks. He served as the Director of the Energy Efficiency Area (2018-19) and the Business Development Department (2021-22).He has also taught at the University of Valladolid, the Miguel de Cervantes European University, and collaborated with other academic institutions such as the University of Almería and the Center for Research in Information Science, Technologies, and Architecture at the University Institute of Lisbon. He has participated in various national and international courses and seminars related to building modeling, energy efficiency, and energy rehabilitation of buildings.He has served as the coordinator of the European projects REMOURBAN, funded by the European Commission under contract number 646511, and OptEEmAL, also funded by the European Commission under contract number 680676. Currently, he coordinates the European project NEUTRALPATH, funded by the European Commission under the HORIZON EUROPE Research Program and within the framework of the European Mission for Smart and Climate-Neutral Cities, with contract number 101096753.He actively contributes to national and international congresses and conferences in his research areas and has 7 publications indexed by JCR and 5 others listed in the Scopus database. Additionally, he has been a member of several Scientific and Technical Committees, including those of the Nearly Zero Energy Buildings Congress in all its editions since 2012, an expert member of Task 59 (Deep renovation of historic buildings towards minimum energy demand and CO2 emissions) of the Solar Heating and Cooling, and a regular reviewer for scientific journals.
