Managed Interlocal, Diageo’s largest third party distributor: 1.7 million cases, £86M net revenue and £57M trading profit p.a., representing 20% of Diageo’s Asia Pacific business. Directed the day to day operations of Interlocal’s two business units: Free Trade Zone (FTZ) and Travel Retail (TR), which covers total duty free operations in Malaysia, Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh and selected duty free operations in Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand. Responsible for end-to-end customer interface covering marketing, innovation, supply and commercial functions. Drove the commercial agenda: developing and negotiating pricing strategies, annual incentive plans and trade promotions. Led the commercialization of innovation projects. Managed the formulation and implementation of sales drivers, retail transformation, and consumer programs in TR accounts, ensuring alignment and cross fertilization with global brand teams and Global Travel and Middle East (GTME).

Directed the finance agenda for South Asia Spirits comprising Interlocal, Diageo’s joint ventures with Moet Hennessy (in Malaysia and Singapore) and the Carlos Palanca Group (in the Philippines). Ensured delivery of volume, net revenue, trading profit, and cash targets by identifying risks / opportunities, and driving mitigation and exploitation plans in response. Ensured integrity and timeliness of financial statements and business performance reports to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Championed governance within the business unit; fully compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley, consistently delivering Satisfactory Controls Assurance and Risk Management (CARM) rating. Launched new routes-to-market in Vietnam (Linh Gia), Malaysia (Image Pillar), and Singapore (Vok Asia). Completed the integration of newly-acquired businesses in Vietnam (production facility and distributorship), acting as Interim Finance Head.

Diageo Philippines was a three-channel business generating an annual volume level of 0.5 million cases, net revenue of £16M and trading profit of £4M. Managed monthly financial reporting and performance management; led performance diagnostics, quarterly forecasting and annual strategic plan cycles. Partnered with commercial and marketing teams to drive pricing decisions, customer / brand profitability and market analyses. Led measurement and evaluation (M&E) of £3M annual advertising and promotions (A&P) budget.

Managed the financial feasibility of all products in the planning pipeline. Managed the logistics accounts and inventory levels of finished goods importations. Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (December 2001). Identified cost reduction opportunities in negotiation of transfer prices and logistics costs, amounting to US$2M and US$1M, respectively, covering two fiscal years. Lead financial analyst on five product launches and the Company’s regional manufacturing strategy.

Handled the Oils and Fats Section of the Foods Department. Negotiated multi-million (USD) transactions involving coconut, palm and soybean oils.
