In the VP of Engineering role I was both Principal Engineer and CPO. I was the strategic leader, visionary, principal architect, and main advocate for the organization's products. I worked directly with the executive team and stakeholders to build a consensus around our roadmaps and direction of our products, while also working directly with the engineering teams to help define and build a massive vision. When I started we provided services to a single client and the system was built custom to their needs. My mission was to modernize FlipSwitch’s technology and build it from the ground up to be a scalable multi-tenant SaaS. In doing so we also created two patents for how an online school can function and won one Codie Award for “Best PK-12 Education Cloud Solution”. During my tenure I helped create* Best in class multi-tenant/SaaS Learning Management System, built specifically with the teenager and pre-teen in mind. This system created an enormous leap in engagement* A multi-tenant/SaaS Student Information System (The ERP of Schools) built with very flexible configurations, that allowed it to be used by the largest virtual high school in Arizona (3rd largest in nation) and largest virtual high school in California. * Parent/Student Portal that acted as a communication hub between parents, teachers, and students configurable by the school to gather attendance in the many different state dictated methodologiesTeacher to Student video streaming (webRTC)

During time at Calence I had a great management team that allowed me to take the initiative and apply myself. This allowed me to quickly move forward in my career path working for a company that I was passionate about.
