Aug 2011- Aug 2012Client: SaphetyMaintenance and development of Marketplace/SaphetyBuy, a web application responsible to manage purchases and financial documents.The application adopts an MVC architecture implemented not via a particular framework but combining essentially JSP with J2EE controllers (including OJDBC database access). It occasionally invokes external webservices. It’s deployed with JBoss.Sept 2012 - presentlyClient: SLIB (in near-shoring)Maintenance and development of Portfolio Manager, an Eclipse RCP application responsible for managing clients’ portfolios. Its functionalities include (but aren’t limited to) generate BIRT reports, transmit orders of purchase or sale of assets and align the portfolio’s position with existing models.Maintenance and development of several applications deployed with Tomcat 6 on a customized MVC framework. Notably, the ACK (account keeping) project that consists of batches, webservices and applications with screens rendered in JSP. The applications store their data in DB2 and call AS400 programs. These applications intend to keep track of all accounting operations, both on cash and securities.Starting from 2015, maintenance of several web applications built within a newer Java 8-based framework deployed in Wildfly 8 and 10 with a customized GUI designer. Use DB2 or PostgreSql with MyBatis.Among them there's: BLK (that manages the life cycle of allocation and blocks, integrating with Blackrock), CAM (Corporate Action Management; that manages corporate action messages) and ABR (Account keeping Business Rules, that centralizes the rules of integrated settlement events applying them a Drools rule engine to reroute them to the proper account business operation).All projects within SLIB use Maven, most of them are stored in SVN but CAM uses GIT instead. Almost all projects have their builds and releases integrated in Jenkins and are deployed with XLDeploy. A scrum approach is used with the aid of Jira.

Aug 2009 - Aug 2010Client: DGITA, DGCI and DGAIEC (Portuguese Finance Ministry branches) - Development of new features and maintenance of the SCO application. This application is available nationwide at the tax services' intranet and is responsible to manage all the nation's fiscal infractions.- Development of new features and maintenance of the Internet application that accepts on-line proposals for houses, cars and everything else seized by the DGCI (Portuguese institution equivalent to the American IRS).- Implementation from scratch and maintenance of the Internet application that accepts on-line proposals for merchandise seized by the Portuguese Customs (DGAIEC).Responsible for programming in Java actions for those Finance Ministry applications. Typical work:• Renderization of pages with HTML templates using Velocity, getting to program with JavaScript and using the jQuery library;• Access Oracle and DB2 databases through OJDBC;• Creation and usage of stored procedures;• Creation and usage of SOAP web services.• WebLogic 8.1 and 10.3.3Aug 2010 - June 2011Development of SMOOth, an application used to internally control Opensoft’s contracts, projects, bills and resources. SMOOth actually consists of two deployed applications that interact with each other:• One, called Singularity, is a web services provider that contains the business layer. These web services are programmed in Java, are connected to an Oracle database through OJDBC and provide outputs in JSON, XML and SOAP.• The other, called SMOOth proper, is responsible for the web component of the application. Its actions are programmed in Java and the pages are rendered using Velocity. The entire layout is designed in ExtJS. Apart from the technical responsibilities, further analytical responsibilities were assumed especially during the initial phase of the project. The produced documentation was RUP based.
