Miguel Cano is a Product Designer and Entrepreneur. He and his wife/partner, Lee Corrina Cano, are founders of Design Union a Chicago based product design practice in operation since 2001. He has earned a Masters in Human Centered Product Design from the Institute of Design IIT and has a long track record designing medical products, consumer goods and children's products. He has developed the rare ability to create designs that integrate user research with a brand's message while skillfully navigating the constraints of various manufacturing processes. He is also the co-founder of The Coffee Studio, an award winning specialty coffee shop in Chicago. This experience has provided Miguel with a well rounded perspective on food service, retail environments and creating unique user experiences. His most recent entrepreneurial endeavor is the stashcord (a DU product) launched in 2010.
