As international lawyer and consultant, I advise private and corporate clients with legal cross-border issues, mainly by giving expert advice on issues of "Private International Law". In relation to corporate clients, I deal with matters of international litigation (jurisdiction in civil and commercial matters, debt recovery in cross-border situations, complex litigation involving foreign elements, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and decisions, arbitration, etc.) and in the drafting of international contracts (international sales, agency and distribution, etc.).As international family lawyer I advise individuals on prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, international marriage and divorce, division of matrimonial property, spousal maintenance, child support, custody over minors and visitation rights, international child abduction, recognition of foreign divorce judgments, etc. I have a deep theoretical and practical knowledge on estate planning for international private clients, helping them find the best approach to solve cross-border succession and inheritance issues. This of course means that I advise expats and non-residents on different last will and testament drafting possibilities, including last-will substitutes (trusts, etc.) and I assist the beneficiaries going through probate before Spanish public notaries. To my experience as international lawyer and advisor, let me add my academic and research background as Profesor Titular de Universidad of Private International Law at the University of Cadiz, where I have also been Vice-dean of the Law School (2004-2012) and University's Secretary General (1998-2002). I am registered at the Colegio de Abogados in Jerez de la Frontera and live in Sotogrande, both cities in the province of Cadiz.
