Teach For America is growing the movement of leaders who work to ensure that kids growing up in poverty get an excellent education.- During the 2011-2012 school year, I taught 8th grade math and two sections of 7th grade remediation for math. The measure of academic success (QDI) for our school was the highest in 7th and 8th grade math at year’s end. During the 2012-2013 school year, I taught 8th grade math and dedicating my extra sections to increasing the role of technology in our classrooms. The school's QDI was highest in 8th grade math at year's end.- As the first on-site Technology Integrationist, I provided professional development for the implementation of technology across all content areas and for administrative purposes, helped troubleshoot existing technologies in classrooms, and identified and put into action new technology-based solutions for student achievement.- Member of the Teaching Support Team (TST). TST places students populated as “at-risk” by the state in the proper tier level of instruction. Due in part to our efforts, the school QDI grew by 37 points during the 2011-2012 school year. - Member of the School Leadership Team. Our team managed the implementation of the leading and lagging indicators of a successful turnaround school as specified by the terms of our School Improvement Grant (SIG). - As the first Apple iPad Program Manager for Ruleville Middle School, I oversaw the management, purchase, and implementation of iPads and iPad-related applications across all grade levels.- From the 2010-2011 school year to the 2011-2012 school year, Ruleville Middle School went from a “Failing” classification to a “Successful” classification as determined by the Mississippi Department of Education.- Fall 2012, Spring 2013 – founder, course leader for “Effective Implementation of Technology in the Classroom”, a monthly professional development opportunity provided to second year Delta corps members.
