The OpenMindz Group is a cross-cultural, full-service web and engineering firm. We leverage Drupal and other open source technologies to create innovative web and mobile applications. We are the only bilingual Drupal-focused shop in the Los Angeles area. Part of the mission of the OpenMindz Group is community-building. Thus, we donate an extensive amount of time to organizing & co-producing several open source-focused user groups, hackathons and tech conferences. Bridging the Digital Divide is a key component of that mission. Thus, we are bringing awareness of open source/free software alternatives to Southern California's ever-burgeoning Spanish-speaking community as well as mentoring inner-city youth & exposing them to technology.

Project Manager for the installation of CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) sensors in all Bed, Bath & Beyond stores in California which directly led to the decrease of Bed, Bath & Beyond's carbon footprint. Managed and serviced every Sephora, Brighton Collectibles and Frederick's of Hollywood stores from San Diego to Santa Barbara. Personally thanked by executives of every company serviced for the suggestion and implementation of both cost-saving and energy-efficient techniques. Lead Engineer on issues dealing with problems with large electrical grids. Implemented and trained colleagues on a new workflow for troubleshooting issues at client sites which led to speeding-up the problem-solving process, better customer service, increased efficiency and reduced costs for the client. Developed the company's PHP-based website.

Initiated and completed the transition from paper-based medical records to an all-digital medical records system for a practice which had been in business for 30 years. Saved the company ~$30,000, in the first year alone, by completely transitioning from proprietary software to open source software in all areas of operations. Expanded the company's brand on the web via developing a new PHP-based website. Trained all medical and support staff in the use of cutting-edge technology. Strictly-adhered to and complied with all HIPAA standards during the entirety of work on all projects. Managed the technology budget and updated all of the company's computer hardware. Greatly-improved the practice's efficiency due to the implementation of new technology standards.

Chosen as the first QA Engineer to help rebuild Ticketmaster's QA department. Lead QA Engineer on a new ticketing industry product (TicketExchange) which included a suite of tools for season ticket holders now used by 90% of major league, professional sports teams in the United States which revolutionized sports ticketing systems for professional sports team owners, the venues and sports fans alike. Member of the multi-team effort to rebuild the entire Ticketmaster.com site from the ground up, including its technology stack. During this large endeavor, was in charge of release management and documentation for the weekly code pushes to productionWorked closely with Developers, Database Administrators, Operations team members, Digital Asset specialists and the good people in Advertising/Marketing on a daily basis to ensure final results met everyone's high standards. Developed and maintained PERL and BASH scripts for my daily workflows. Tested the software components used to serve the Ticketmaster.com site. Wrote test plans and contributed to the team's documentation efforts. Member of the Ticketmaster Basketball League, a fun, after-hours way for fellow co-workers to de-stress, team-build and have fun after a long work week in a relaxed, yet somehow still highly-competitive, environment.

Led several projects including Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing, Vegas Casino and several other educational and casual game titles. Managed the projects on both the publishing and development side. Trained and managed several QA Engineers. Established and organized the Encore Frag-Fest (EFF!), a weekly, after-hours event where co-workers utilized the QA Lab to play First-Person Shooter (FPS) games, with and against each other, via Local Area Network (LAN) gaming and whose mission it was to help de-stress and team-build in a relaxed environment.

Established the company's first organizational research endeavor. Initiated and managed the company's first foray into focus groups and patient satisfaction surveys. Reported to the Quality Assurance Committee, a team of corporate executives and Medical Directors from all of the company's sites. Oversaw the entirety of the company's bilingual marketing materials and advertising campaigns. Assisted in the production of the company's yearly health fair.Work directly led to AltaMed's expansion of several programs, clinics and into new markets which resulted in increased medical coverage to the area's under-served population. Work also directly led to the addition of Rugby Plaza (an ADHC in Huntington Park), Grand Plaza (an ADHC in Chinatown) and AltaMed PACE El Monte which exponentially increased the company's coverage of senior care services. This positioned AltaMed at the forefront of affordable health care and multi-faceted senior services in the state of California.
