About Miguel Ignacio Serrano

During our last 10 Years, my team and I have been committed to help humankind with robotic solutions.We created solutions for inspection and maintenance applied to mining and Oil & Gas Industries, looking to reduce human life risk in dangerous tasks.Now days we are also developing robotic solutions in Healthcare, Agriculture and logistic areas, reducing cost of our clients and turning them more competitive.I like to work with people of open mind, who can help us to create innovative solutions.Our goal is the develop of technology that increase productivity and quality of process and also safety for people. I has experience in the automation field of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Nowadays I'm director of INSTOR since 2008 to the present.My goal is to develop technological solutions to our partners and customers, helping them to be more competitive. I also have coordinated several research projects in cooperation between INSTOR and Institutions like UFRGS, PUCRS, FAPERGS and SENAI. All the projects are related to develop new robotic technologies for petroleum and gas companies. My main research areas are related to robotic machines designed to cleaning, painting and inspection operations in hazardous areas, subaquatic applications and work in high. Along these years can highlight the development of innovative products like:Autonomous system to collect samples of soy and corn to measure it quality.InX Robot, designed to clean, paint or inspect vessels surfaces or storage tank surfaces.InHB Robot, designed to clean fully automated industrial heat changer.InRC system, designed to clean offshore pipelines.JP Robot, designed to jet-cleaning storage tank surfaces.I'm very grateful working with an innovative and qualified team.I hope to grow a little bit every day as a good leader and advisor.

The research team was formed by engineering students, most of them from electrical and mechanic school of UFRGS.
