- Team management for the web development for the Bone Marrow Transplant program (BMT) - data integration and processing for research purposes and for automatic forms preparation to submit to the Center for Blood and Marrow Transplant (CIBMTR). The system uses Python and Django with Apache on a Red Hat Linux virtual machine (VMWare based) with ExtJS and JQuery for the front end and MySQL for the backend. The system also uses Talend for data migration/interfacing, with the help of daily cron jobs that pull and update the local databases.- Team management for the web development of infrastructure systems, in particular Agile and DevOps ideas and methods such as applying docker and other up-to-date technologies for efficient, continuous integration and continuous delivery of our solutions and platforms.- Team management for the web development for electronic consenting for protocols using Python and Django on a Red Hat Linux virtual machine (VMWare based) with BootStrapJS, JQuery and Apache for the front end and Oracle for the backend. Water resources engineer with an emphasis in modeling and GIS applications. Working on projects for the City of Tampa and other local government institutions in the Tampa Bay area.

- Surface water and drainage modeling tasks in Florida using AdICPR, XPSWMM and HCSWMM- GIS based analysis of watersheds in Florida using ArcHydro- General water resources engineering tasks such as: review and modification of catchment delineation; pollutant loads and removals for non-point source pollution analysis.- Computational tasks to ingest data and field data for integration in enterprise-level geodatabases and datasets.- Intensive use of MS office and also scripts (python/other) to integrate heterogenous datasets- Marketing tasks related to experience and requirements in proposal preparation.

- Oversaw 5 Areas in Hillsborough County, for a total of about 250+ members to help them succeed and make great progress in the program.- Marketed Toastmasters at several companies and groups interested in creating a local chapter (club), for a total of 22 leads. The efforts led to the successful creation of 6 new clubs which are still in existence (Feb. 2009)- Facilitated the training of the club officers twice during my term.- Organized and conducted two rounds of speech contests, as required by the District.- Attended and participated in the District-level activities planned by the Top-3 officers.

- Worked on water resources and hydraulic modeling using the following packages: AdICPR, SWMM, SWFWMD RSM, WaterGEMS and SewerGEMS- Performed software development using .Net and OpenMI under Windows (to implement OpenMI to 1-Dimensional versions of ISIS, which developed by Halcrow)- Installed, debugged and analyzed results and performance of the SWFWMD's RSM model under Fedora Linux (C++ and scripts)- Conducted a model inventory and classification for the SWFMWD in West Palm Beach, exchanging information and classifying model types and status of the models, in particular related to elevation datum (NGVD29 vs. NAVD88)- Worked on hydrologic studies of evapotranspiration in Argentina (Pilcomayo Basin - drains Bolivia, Argentina and Paraguay)- Analyzed water flooding and inundation modeling results in the UK (two locations: Boscastle, where a simulation of real catastrophic floods had occurred, and at the Ardour Ponds, where a tsunami-like event was modeled with SMS)

- Mostly District Governor duties: oversaw 6 divisions and 25 Areas in S. Dakota, N. Dakota, Montana and NW Minnesota, a total of 120 clubs and about 4000 members. - Made sure that the two annual conferences and rounds of contests were in place.- Ensured that the District newsletter was published and delivered on time to the members.- Conducted monthly teleconferences with the District Officers to ensure accountability and continuity in their tasks, solving issues that might arise within the normal operations of the District.- Made sure that overall the District was strong, growing and serving its members properly.- Attended the International Convention and ensured that the club proxies were used properly to cast the votes on many important issues, including the increase of dues.

- Lt. Governor of Education and Training duties: oversee the club officers and district leaders (Area and Division Governors) training needs and requirements. Made sure that clubs got the proper credit for having the minimum set of officers trained.- Ensured that only approved programs were used as much as possible.- Overall ensured that members' educational goals are met and on target.- Attained the "Excellence in Education and Training" award at the International Convention from the President of the Organization.

- Lt. Governor of Marketing duties: focused on "spreading the word" about Toastmasters- Ensured that club building efforts were on their way and keeping good track of things.- Made sure that club charter paperwork and monies were properly sent and signed and overall that the membership body increases in a sustainable, strong way.- Helped facilitate the difficult transition from being District 41 (S. Dakota only) into District 78 (S. Dakota, N. Dakota, Montana and Northwest Minnesota) under a very tight schedule. The transition went on successfully, even with strong opposition from several members.

- Software development tasks related to WaterGEMS using .Net and C# with ArcObjects and customized routines in C++ and ESRI's libraries (ArcGIS)- Responsible for the ArcGIS version of WaterGEMS and the initial development of V8 of SewerGEMS in ArcGIS- Coding, testing and debugging on the code, comparisons with existing models of large size to determine the quality of the run and of the results.

- GIS and database work for the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD), helping ingest new data and keeping the current information as clean and as current as possible. - Automating processes and beta testing of ArcGIS 8.0 at the USGS EROS center- Interact, help resolve and provide support to personnel of partnering institutions like USEPA

- Flood risk monitoring tasks for south-east African basins (Limpopo and Zambezi rivers). Later on, helped with incorporating the monitoring system in the Greater Horn of Africa.- Mentoring, teaching and technology transfer to partners and institutions in South-east Africa, in particular Mozambique - GIS based flood risk monitoring system.- Focus lead for the Topographic Science team: help and assist with the work management needs of a group of 10 to 15 members of diverse backgrounds and experience.

­ Conducted the research and the work related to soil physics, spatial information and groundwater hydrology needed to complete my PhD degree ­ Performed analyses and research using geostatistics, performed work related to precision farming and other spatial data problems, worked with ArcView, C, C++, Perl, GSLIB, GNUPlot and Fortran 77 programs. ­ Research on sample support effect on spatial variability estimation ­ Prepared and completed the final thesis document using using the LTEX 2 professional

Assisted with computer modeling efforts of the Illinois River at Peoria, IL for the analysis of suggested artificial islands to be built to help control a problem with ice blocks and current operation of river locks.

Helped maintain a database of river stage data for several rivers and streams in Colombia, such as the Magdalena river and the Canal del Dique. The amount of information for the Magdalena river was quite large and needed good automation.
