(Paper in progress and my bachelor's thesis)o Done simulations of continuous-time quantum and random walks over three different genotype spaces with around 20,000 genotypes as genetic evolution models to compare their hitting times to new phenotypes. Gave a talk about this research project at the Quantum Latino 2021 event. See code repository here.o We found that quantum hitting times are 1.5-x shorter than classical hitting times to new phenotypes. Our results demostrate that continuous-time quantum walks are the appropriate tool to explore genetic genotype networks, being quantum walks a viable approach for the development of a general theory of mutations improving the discovery of evolutionary innovations compared to continuous-time classical walks.o The simulations were done in Python powered by IBM Cloud Code Engine and IBM Cloud Cloudant. Simulations data were analyzed using Pandas and Seaborn (data analysis and visualization Python libraries).
