Current- Responsible for setting up and migration of testing performed in third-party laboratories to an in-house laboratory.- Specialised in the design of molecular markers for several key crops, notably tomato, pepper, eggplant and common bean.- Designed and implemented molecular markers for resistances and other traits, as well as molecular marker panels for quality control, currently used in variety verification and hybrid purity testing.- Set up infrastructure for automated data processing systems in Microsoft Excel with Microsoft Access backend integration, utilizing custom VBA scripts for data transformation.- Established a variant calling pipeline that can be used with publicly available and in-house generated resequencing data. Experienced with bio-informatics tools such as VCFtools, BCFtools, BEDtools, andGATK.- Set up various quality of life tools for breeding purposes, such as a genome browser containing in-house re-sequenced genomes, genomic maps displaying available molecular markers, and an indepth datapoint tracking system able to analyze datapoint information down to individual molecular marker level.- Responsible for day to day laboratory management and maintenance.
