Responsible for the delivery of projects within the Asset Management Innovation Programme, exploring ways to innovate in nuclear decommissioning to reduce costs, underpin technical assessments and improve safety.- As the Subject Matter Expert for drones and remote inspections, I oversaw a massive expansion of theuse of drones on sites across the UK to conduct both external and internal inspections, staying upto date on the latest technologies and setting out training requirements for new pilots. I also delivered the first autonomous drone with Beyond Visual Line Of Sight (BVLOS) capability on a UK government site.- Deployed robotic platforms such as Boston Dynamics SPOT in challenging environments to accelerate the use of technology and innovation at Magnox, as well as robots for non-destructive testing of critical plant operating beyond its design life.- Tested Deep Learning vision systems to monitor long-term defect trends on civil structures across theMagnox fleet.All of my work fed directly into a wider programme aimed at transforming Magnox into a digitalorganisation. I would create and evaluate new project ideas and carry forward those which seem to bestsupport this objective.
