Deeply involved in promoting Ports & Shipping through Consulting, Training and Publications. Thus open for synergistic positions. Began my journey in the Indian Maritime Domain with the Major Ports of India. in a tumultuous fashion, as I had to mange many less-than-systematic processes and extreme labor unrest; covering about 10000+ on-roll workers. Subsequently looked after many of the project cargo handling - like NTPC start up consignments, Indian Railway locomotives - BOBO/COCO from Mitsubishi and ABB, dredgers for IWAI, DMRC coaches, discharging frigates, etc. Inter-department coordination for all divisions of the port (e.g. dredging, construction, operation and tariff setting) was handled along with the CEO office. Instrumental in turnaround (after long 6 years) of the loss making Railway System through process realignment and enhancing customer satisfaction. As Head of Corporate Communication it was necessary to coordinate and revive faith between the port & all Media houses (and the State Administration) - especially when the when the port was battered by unwelcome reports and waning credibility. My exposure with the Mega Port ( Mundra Port) which was in the making - in areas of re-engineering, safety, containers, railways, cargo handling and training - enhanced my confidence to take planning to execution comfortably. This journey added many dimensions of my port experience. I handled the T & D for all categories of employees in the port - across all departments - sometimes up-to the senior levels. My first involvement of Indian Maritime Training happened with the position of Secretary with the IIPM / NIPM - both of them are absorbed by the Indian Maritime University from 2008-9.Was a lead collaborator in implementing a Floating Maritime Museum project, that involved retro-filling a Paddle Steamer and doing construction work on it and opening it to the public. The work entailed narration and planning of the artifacts to make it a great centerpiece for the City of Calcutta.Later I wanted to be a part of one of the largest Shipping House in India - that provided opportunity for me to understand the pain points & correct them for the company, so far as the total container logistics is concerned. Worked as a lead coordinator in the groups formed in drafting the Maritime India Vision 2030. With an understanding that all these experience must be shared for posterity - I started my journey with Gujarat University, CEPT University, NMIS, UPES, ICFAI, UNISON & Gatishakti University, . and also Advising the IMU through the Indian Ports Association.
