DESTA Research LLP is a sustainability research and consulting firm with core expertise in systems thinking and system dynamics modeling. DESTA is an acronym, standing for "Developing Ecosystems for Systemic Transformation and Adaptation". It is also a word in the Amharic language of East Africa, meaning joy and happiness, having both the masculine and feminine gender. DESTA's core objective is to advance the field of systems thinking and system dynamics in India through its application in action research, teaching, training and capacity building. The organizational model of DESTA is to grow through networks and create an ecosystem of agents, institutions which can enable systemic transformation and adaptation to the most pressing social, ecological and economic challenges of our times.
