I recently graduated with a master's of public health from UC Berkeley (School of Public Health) specializing in infectious diseases and vaccinology, and I was also a California Wellness Fellow within the program. I am still conducting research as a graduate researcher for Dr. Jay Graham on community antimicrobial resistant E. coli in Guatemala with respect to integrons, employing use of bioinformatic tools. I also served as a Graduate Student Instructor for two semesters.I served as a shadowing intern at SoCal Medical Respiratory Group, where I watched key interactions in a clinical setting. I also served as an Undergraduate Instructional Assistant at my university, the University of California San Diego, with the Global Health Program, where I assisted in various aspects of course administration for undergraduate courses, including a course titled "Global Health Epidemiology".I have also worked as a Biological Sciences Senator in the Senate of the Associated Students of UC San Diego, and prior to this I have served as Revelle College Senator. I was also involved with the organization as a senior advisor to the president, in a voluntary capacity. I have worked as a Biological Science Aide in the research service at the La Jolla Hospital of the Veterans Affairs Administration at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. In addition to this laboratory work I participated in, I served as a Data Scientist for the La Jolla-based, artificial intelligence start-up, Netradyne, Inc. Here, I conducted a wide-array of statistical and data analytical practices to help the company with processing the data gathered from its system and devices.I seek to further my interest in biological sciences, global health/epidemiology, infectious diseases, policy and public behavior, as well as healthcare as a prospective medical school student.
