This role was based at Qantas in a multi-vendor environment. Through this role, TCS wanted to develop their automation capabilities in order to bid for the upcoming automation projects at Qantas. Also, there was an expectation to mentor the offshore team at India in the art of automation so that the projects could be offshored in the future.Responsibilities:• Manage the onsite and offshore automation teams working for Qantas.• Understand scope of automation at Qantas.• Demonstrate the advantages of automation through POC and presentations .• Participate in scripting in Java using Rational Functional Tester• Manage the teams to achieve deadlines.• Mentor the members of the team in use of automation tool.• Raising risk, issues and dependencies in the project and management meetings.Achievements:• Successfully fixed the existing automation at one of the business units as a result of which the time taken for regression testing was reduced from 3 weeks to 4 hours. This was a senior role meant to positively contribute in the overall development of the testing team.
