Key Responsibilities:Leading efforts to amend Sri Lanka's current abortion law (Penal Code 303, 1883) to legalize abortion under conditions of statutory rape, incest, and fetal abnormality.Advocating with the Ministry of Justice and civil society organizations to repeal the vagrancy ordinance.Collaborating with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Women's Affairs to prevent sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).Drafting amendments to decriminalize LGBTQIA+ laws in Sri Lanka and advancing efforts to protect the rights of transgender individuals through statutory recognition and anti-discrimination laws.Developing and implementing the FPASL Advocacy Strategy for 2023-2028, with a focus on reproductive health, rights, and gender equality.Engaging with the Ministry of Health and the National STI/AIDS Control Program (NSACP) to strengthen healthcare and advocacy initiatives.

Safe Circles (safecircles.lk) was created to make education on topics that matter accessible to all Sri Lankans in Sinhala, Tamil and English. Topics addressed include bodies and boundaries, gender equality, reproductive health, child rights, and disability, with new topics added regularly.
