I serve as the CEO of UpZide and is one of the founders. UpZide provides expert services in the field of cellular systems R&D. We focus on layer 1 algorithms, baseband architecture design, custom DSP designs and various types of simulator designs. UpZide is a team of highly competent and experienced engineers, all with more than 20 years in the field of R&D. Me and the UpZide team is famous from our ground breaking work in the field of VDSL between 1994 and 2008. Our outstanding innovation of the digital duplex concept (aka Zipper) became after a long battle the world standard (ITU SG15) in 2003. Digital duplex is also a necessity for todays Vectored VDSL (MIMO) that increases the throughput further by a magnitude. More than 30 key patents were produced by me and the team, all commercialized. The core Zipper patents is encapsulated by the standard.Between 2001 and 2009, UpZide were a fabless semiconductor company in the field of VDSL.a Swedish fabless semiconductor company. In the 2008 downturn, due to the the lack of venture capital the company assets were acquired by a large telecom company.I was awarded Honorary Doctor (Technologiae Doctorem Honoris Causa) at the University of Lund in 2004.
