Mikaela Appleberry is seeking leadership positions within the realm of care coordination and disability services pertaining to children, youth, adults; and the elderly. She was born and raised in Chicago. She is a graduate student pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Northern Illinois University. In December 2020, she also graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Human Development & Family Sciences and Rehabilitation and Disability Services, along with a minor in Counseling. She has been a peer educator, babysitter, child care provider, tutor, and mentor. She also has experience working 1:1 with people ages 2-21 in a highly individualized and supported environment. She collaborates with clients in a variety of skill areas, including: conversation, fine/gross motor, self-help, pre-academic, and behavior management. She also uses learning strategies and procedures to teach children with developmental delays and/or special needs, as well as those who are educationally gifted. Mikaela also has case management experience with providing services for the elder population who participate in community care plan programs in the Chicagoland area.
