Over the summer of 2024, I had the opportunity to complete a one and a half month finance internship at Maybank, one of the largest banks in Southeast Asia. During this time, I gained valuable insight into finance and investment banking by working closely with experienced professionals at the company.By collaborating with my talented coworkers, I developed a deeper understanding of how a major banking institution operates on a day-to-day basis. I participated in strategic discussions, financial analysis exercises, due diligence, and learning about client presentations, all of which provided me with hands-on experience in finance which I am eager to pursue a career in.This internship at Maybank has been an incredibly rewarding and eye-opening experience. I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside industry experts and to have gained a comprehensive understanding of the financial services sector in Malaysia and the broader Southeast Asian region.
