Mikael is a senior manager, entrepreneur, and international development practitioner with 18 years of experience in strategy, planning, operations, project management, research, and advisory in both the public and private sectors. With experience across a wide range of sectors and domains in 15+ countries, Mikael has developed deep expertise in agriculture development, agriculture finance and technology, food systems, and renewable energy in emerging markets. Mikael has conducted research, published papers, spoken at industry events, and provided advisory services on a range of topics related to agricultural finance, digital and technology in agriculture, and the evolution of AgTech and FinTech business models in Africa. Mikael has worked with and advised leading multilateral organizations, donors, foundations, NGOs, and private companies, including the World Bank, CGAP, USAID, UKAid, Mastercard Foundation, Shell Foundation, One Acre Fund, Root Capital, Dalberg, the Global Development Incubator, and ISF Advisors. As a successful entrepreneur, Mikael has also co-founded an American wood flooring business and a Norwegian renewable energy company that provides financed solar solutions to international organizations operating in humanitarian contexts. Mikael holds a Masters in Public Administration in International Development (MPA/ID) from Harvard and a Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts.
