I'm a well organised, pragmatic engineer with a technical mindset data processing skills. Nowadays, my work involves various kinds of calculations, programming and modelling.# Organized #Structure and order are important in most things I do. Bringing order into chaos keeps me in the "flow". When things are well structured it makes makes it easier to manage multiple tasks in a changing environment. That's why I plan ahead and write lists of the tasks at hand. Making calculations about resources, such as time and materials, makes it easier to plan my day and ensure the coming tasks are executed smoothly. I also enjoy automating everything I can. Things like email categorisation and data analysis can be automated to a great degree so that my time can be used for more important and urgent matters.# Pragmatic #I base my decisions on the things I know, and I prefer practical solutions. When the simplest solution isn’t feasible, a more elegant one required, but that doesn’t mean it has to be overly complicated. # Technical mindset #I think about most things in a technical and analytical way. Even my hobbies eventually involve calculations, mathematical models and predictions. For instance, most photography guide books have trouble advising how to take long exposure shots. After a bit of online research, I found several mathematical formulae explaining the relationship between aperture, ISO-number and exposure time. Their combination allowed me to predict the duration of very long exposures accurately. No need for trial and error shots as recommended in the guide book. This is the kind of thinking I apply to most things I care about.

  For the first 6 years bioleaching was my main focus, but nowadays I'm working with hydrometallurgy and chemical engineering in general. Currently most of my projects are more data oriented, but occasionally I am involved with some experiments too. The goal of every task is to discover new ways to improve production.
