I have a busy mixed common law practice, undertaking family, criminal, and civil work. The majority of my work comprises family cases from injunctive relief to private law cases, public law, and ancillary relief. I undertake both prosecution and defence work in the magistrates’ courts across the region, including private prosecutions for local councils and the RSPCA. Work also includes preliminary hearings in the crown court, appeals, and appearances at the Court of Appeal. My civil work includes small claims and fast track trials across a range of areas of law, together with a steady paperwork practice.

I joined CAB as an unpaid general advisor, then after about 6 months, and at a break in my legal studies, I was offered a paid position taking over from the departing employment law caseworker. This job involved doing initial interviews with members of the general public with employment law problems and attempting to resolve their dispute by negotiating with their employer or taking their case to the employment tribunal. The position was LSC funded and included full free representation at the employment tribunal, which I also provided for the clients. The job was challenging and wide-ranging, and covered a high volume of clients over a large geographical area.
