I am currently a second-year student attending Brock University working towards my undergraduate degree. Specifically, I am obtaining my bachelor’s degree in psychology with co-op option. I am very interested in the mental health community and am looking for related opportunities. Specifically in relation to those struggling with mental illnesses such as anxiety and depression. Additionally, I aspire to work and help others who are undergoing difficulties within their lives. My past work and volunteer experiences has allowed me to develop many essential skills. I have strengthened my teamwork, problem-solving and my communication skills greatly. For example, during my work at Tim Hortons I spent majority of my shifts serving and communicating with a variety of different people each and every day. Additionally, as a psychology student and through my own life experiences, I have been exposed to the struggles many individuals face in regard to mental health. Helping others is something that extremely interests me as a whole and brings me a sense of fulfillment. I believe the skills I possess such as listening and communication skills are greatly valued when it comes to the helping those struggling with mental health as it is often, they need someone to talk to. I am looking forward to strengthening these skills and my experience with mental health further through any opportunities I receive.
