Responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks relating to facility exhibits: including but not limited to regular checks of exhibitory, troubleshooting, repair, documentation of status, maintenance, and assist in associated departmental tasks in areas related to these functions. Ability to work independently to satisfactorily fulfill both daily technician shift responsibilities and specific work/duty assignments; stand and walk for long periods of time. Ability to occasionally lift heavy objects alone (up to about 75 pounds alone); climb various ladders and use other multi-story lift equipment without hesitation to complete repair/maintenance tasks. Ability to work in all reasonable weather conditions; work daytime and evening hours (weekdays and weekends) as well as holidays.Possess good hands-on knowledge and skill in use of tools and methods necessary to maintain and repair exhibits, a good “team” mindset to work well with both other technicians and other department personnel. Punctual and good time-management skills, good practical computer use background (email, tables, spreadsheets, word processing). Oversees Visitor Services staff during daily operations in the absence of the Director of Visitor Services and Admissions Manager. Serve as a key point of contact for Admissions staff, providing guidance and direction.Balances Visitor Services Representatives: runs ticketing system reports; approves refunds; counts out visitor services reps/Rangos/Submarine staff; prepares daily balancing paperwork; works with the Director of Visitor Services and Admissions Manager in resolving monetary discrepancies.Works with the Director of Visitor Services and Admissions Manager to ensure appropriate staffing at all times for Visitor Services functions. Maximizes use of available staffing and works with Director of Visitor Services and Admissions Manager to secure additional staffing when necessary.Ensures availability of items necessary for successful visitor services function. This includes, but is not limited to: currency and change, office supplies, brochures, and visitor information. Works with the Director of Visitor Services and Admissions Manager to maintain an orderly system for storing and displaying all above-mentioned material. Completes other daily responsibilities including: lobby checklist, phone management (calls and voicemails), and emails (confirmations, visitor inquiries, daily reporting, etc.) Prepare Daily Admission Report, documenting events in detail. Provide specific details of issues, conflicts, incidents, etc. Note all follow-up with other departments and outside personnel.

Facilitate the active engagement of visitors with the works on view, help to make personal connections and tell stories around the works. Also ensure that visitors comply with Museum policies regarding exhibitions and safety; communicate those policies in a direct, friendly and respectful manner; monitor the flow of traffic; monitor gallery floors, communicate with facilities management regarding potential safety issues or hazards; and report on any incidents or issues.

At this school for multicultural students, my duties had to be strict and timely. My role including greeting the families and performing security clearances for visitors, organizing the children's paper work and items that were brought from home, providing meals for snacks and lunch, memorizing families and personal items, training new employees. replacing teachers when absent or when in need of a break, and maintaining a very clean environment and ensuring that everyone moves to the right schedule. Another skill that had to be learned over time was coming over language barriers, as I had to work amongst people from all corners of the globe and relay information to parents from said areas. I learned basic communication for Italian, French, Spanish, and German.
