About Mikdat Kadioglu
Mikdat Kadioglu is a Professor at the Disaster Management Centre and Meteorological Engineering Department at Istanbul Technical University - Turkey. He currently serves as an advisor to President of Turkish Red Crescent Society and Governorship of Istanbul. Prof. Kadioglu has been actively involved in many and leading some of the major efforts in developing Disaster Mitigation, Response and Business Continuity Plans and training programs.Meteoroloji ve Afet Yönetimi Profesörü, 1961 Maçka doğumlu. 1980 İstanbul İnşaat Teknik Lisesi; 1984 İTÜ Meteoroloji Mühendisliği Bölümü Mezunu. Atmosfer Bilimleri konusunda 1987'de Master ve 1991'de Doktorasını ABD’nin Missouri-Columbia Üniversitesinden almış. Afet Yönetimi konusunda ABD’de FEMA, Japonya’da JICA ve İngiltere’nin Bournemouth Üniversitesinin eğitimlerine katılmış. TMMOB Meteoroloji Mühendisleri Odası Marmara Bölge Temsilcisi; Türk Deniz Araştırmalar Vakfı ve Trabzon Eğitim, Kültür ve Sanat Derneğinin üyesidir. Sayısal Hava Öngörüsü, İklim Değişimi ve Afet Yönetimi konuları ile ilgileniyor. Atmosfer Bilimleri ve Afet Yönetimi konusunda Türkçe ve İngilizce yayınları var. Şuan İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi (İTÜ) Uçak ve Uzay Bilimleri Fakültesi Meteoroloji Mühendisliği Bölümü ve Afet Yönetim Araştırma ve Uygulama Merkezi Öğretim Üyesidir. İstanbul Büyük Şehir Belediyesi Afet Koordinasyon Merkezi (AKOM) ve Başbakanlık Afet ve Acil Durum Yönetimi (AFAD) Başkanlığı karla mücadele ve depreme karşı hazırlık ve planlama konularında danışmalığını yapmıştır. Sivil Savunma ve KIZILAY Eğitim Gönüllüsüdür. 24 TV’de “Doğanın Çığlığı”, NTV’de “Yeryüzü Notları”, Açık Radyo (94,9 Mhz) ve A Haber TV Kanalında “Havadan-Sudan” adlı programları hazırlayıp sunmuştur. Hürriyet ve Milliyet Gazetelerinde “Havadan-Sudan” adlı köşe yazarlığı yapmıştır. Halen superhaber.tv’de köşe yazarlığı, İstanbul Valiliği Afet ve Acil Durum Merkezi’nin ve KIZILAY Başkanı’nın da danışmanlığını yapmaktadır.
