Chief Engineer
Current• As Senior Chief Engineer responsible for the oversight and quality control of 2 major conversion projects spanning 4 years, liaising with company Project Managers and Shipyard management teams to create 2 bespoke Dynamically Positioned Yacht Support Vessels.• Responsible for monitoring and inspecting the mechanical condition of all main propulsion and auxiliary machinery associated with the vessels' marine and hotel services to ensure compliance with Flag State/Classification society rules. • Inspect shipboard equipment and recognize maintenance and repair needs. Initiate action where required, working together and directing subordinate personnel as part of a team. Organising and coordinating 3rd party contractors when required.• Strategic planning of maintenance activities utilising planned maintenance systems. • Responsible for maintenance of electrical control systems including ships navigation and communications equipment, including VSAT, internet, and AVIT systems.• Possess a comprehensive knowledge of various Flag state and Classification society rules. • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the ISM code and its application aboard.• Maintenance and repair of refrigeration plants for the purpose of food storage and vessel air conditioning.• Take an active role in promoting safety on-board. Creating risk assessments and safe working checklists in accordance with vessel permit to work system. • Responsible for the maintenance of a large variety of tenders and toys including an ROV, a 5-man submarine, cigarette racing boats, jetskis, landing craft and catamarans.
