In January of 2023 Michael Andreasen joined UNC-Chapel Hill as Vice Chancellor for Development. With more than 30 years of public higher ed fundraising experience he brings a passion for securing philanthropic support to Carolina in service to the university’s mission of academic excellence, affordable access, and public service to the state.  Prior to joining UNC-CH, he served as Senior Vice President, Advancement at the University of Oregon. He began at the University of Oregon as Vice President, Development in 2010 and successfully oversaw the completion of a $3.2 B campaign during his twelve-year tenure. In his role, Mike oversaw the UO Alumni Association, Government & Community Affairs, and Development programs. Before coming to the University of Oregon, he served as assistant dean and executive director for advancement at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He previously held development roles in major gifts and campaign leadership at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and the American Film Institute. He began his career in annual giving at the University of California, Irvine. Andreasen earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science at the University of California, Irvine.
