I served as an Infantry Officer (11A) with the United States Army from 2011 to 2015. Completed a combat tour of duty in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, from January 2014 to October 2014. I am a recipient of the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement medal, and the Combat Infantryman's Badge. I was responsible for the planning, training, and execution of all events leading up to and during the deployment. I supervised 55 men, working directly with 5 subordinates to coordinate logistical and tactical events, as well as coordinating with numerous other departments and senior officers to streamline all activities. I was directly responsible for over $18,000,000 of equipment in over 5,000 individual pieces. I developed excellent personnel management skills and quickly mastered the art of organizing and managing a department. I worked as a Respiratory Therapist for Providence Alaska Medical Center. I specialized in Emergency Medical Trauma and Intensive Care Units. I was regularly the lead therapist on shift and assisted the department head in organizing and managing the department. I was a member of both the Rapid Response Team and the Code Blue Response Team - both teams involve critical and immediate action for life threatening events such as heart attacks. My job consistently required coordination with numerous people not only within my department, but numerous others across the hospital. I acted as a liaison between the Respiratory Department and the Nursing staff, Doctors, and Specialists. I worked extensively in highly challenging medical situations that required immediate problem and adaption, as well as constant continuing education.

I worked as a Respiratory Therapist for Renown Regional Medical Center. I worked extensively in a broad spectrum of medical areas to include Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Outpatient Medical Services, Intensive Care, and Emergency Medicine. I worked extensively with professionals to include Doctors, Nurses, Physical Therapist, Speech Pathologists, Surgeons, and Paramedics. This required that I constantly be able to adapt to changing circumstances, particularly with emergency situations. I quickly developed effective multitasking, stress managements, and rapid learning techniques so I could excel in this profession.
