• Developed state of the art video extensometry device. The previous version of the device collected frames at 50 frames per second and performed image processing on a personal computer. The new device performs all image processing in real time on a Xilinx FPGA and collects frames at 500 frames per second with minimal latency.• Used Mathworks Simulink and HDL workflow advisor software to develop a real time image processing model that was then converted to an IP Core and run on the Xilinx Zynq Soc.• Developed a c++ algorithm using OpenCV running on embedded Linux to perform the initial identification of fiducials within a captured image.• Developed the client and server software to support the newly developed video extensometer. This involves development on both Windows and Linux using C# and C++.• Using C++ interfaced with various imaging devices including USB 3.0 and CameraLink cameras as well as custom smart cameras.• Configured and built embedded Linux images using Xilinx PetaLinux tools.• Configured PC Lint static analysis tool to check C code and perform modifications required to meet software requirements of IEC 61508.• Configured and used LDRA static analysis tool to check C code for compliance to coding standard and various safety standards.• Managed all Bluehill Software support activity, this included reviewing, rating and approving all support requests, assigning support requests to the appropriate software engineers and ensuring all requests were completed satisfactorily.• Managed all custom software requests, this included evaluating all incoming software customization requests for feasibility, effort and cost, writing up customization proposals, and assigning any customization work to the appropriate engineer.• Managed the release of all software versions.• Developed, improved and customized all levels of Bluehill software, including user interface using C# and analysis and business layers using C++.
