Worked onsite at Caterpillar Global Paving Products, Brooklyn Park, MN. Was a Senior Mechanical Designer within the engine systems group. Responsibilities included design of all engine systems for a new cold planer machine product. This work included design and integration of Tier 4F emissions systems as well as cooling package, air cleaner, muffler and hydraulic drive systems packaging.

Worked onsite at John Deere Corp., Dubuque, IA as a Project Manager/Supervisor, within the construction equipment group. Responsibilities included supervising RFA employee’s onsite. Also supported design efforts on dozers and motorgraders cab designs.

Performed on the FCS Man Ground Vehicle contract which included the development of a mobile 155mm cannon. Responsibilities included working as the design lead for the cannon weapon cooling group. Lead a small group of engineers and designers developing these systems for the vehicle. This water hydraulic high pressure system included 600 parts which were necessary to keep the cannon safe and cool during high rate multi-round missions. Worked extensively in Yuma, Az. at the US Army Yuma Proving Grounds testing and developing these systems on live fire cannons. Other projects included designing turret structures for the FCS cannon. These structures were large light weight aluminum weldments. Also designed a complete ammunition handling system for a prototype 120mm mortar cannon for use on a test range.

Responsibilities were to develop industrial equipment for RFA clients. The work involved the designing of earthmovers, paving equipment, folk lifts, forestry equipment and boring machines.

Responsible for two development projects, an automated conveyor system for feeding milk samples to the instruments and a new milk analyzer instrument.

Responsibilities included all of the design drafting functions. Maintained all of the engineering and design documentation during the development of the product. Some duties included designing optical mechanical subsystems for delivering laser light though the system. Also designing fiber optic catheters placed into the body that diagnose disease in the heart. Packaging design of the main computer control console.

Employed in the Plant Engineering and Construction Dept. Some tasks performed were design and layout of boilers and plant facility's equipment. Most of the work involved mechanical and electrical layout and detailing functions.

Designed and detailed nurseries, farrowing crates, gates and pens for hogs, sheep and cattle. Supervised a five person crew in a welding shop that manufactured this equipment.
