Being born in Vancouver, I have always been passionate about sport and healthy living. But it wasn't until suffering a major back injury that I discovered how important proper foot support provided by orthopedic insoles was in aiding my recovery and improving my health overall. I knew that if an insole could have such an impact on me, it could have a similarly positive impact on others as well so I set out to build a team that could help bring comfort and pain relief to as many people as possible.In 2001, I founded SOLE™ and created our very first footbed, the most effective over-the-counter insole featuring an award-winning and scientifically-proven-effective customizable orthopedic shape. Since then, our footbeds and footwear continue to be sold all over the world, leaving customers satisfied and pain-free and establishing SOLE™ as an industry leader in pain reduction and orthopedic health. As conscious consuming is always top of mind, creating products that help people had to be balanced with ensuring our production has as small of an environmental footprint as possible. SOLE™ is the first and only footwear brand to ever use recycled natural cork in their products. The cork used is provided by our own recycling initiative, ReCORK™, which has grown into North America's largest wine cork recycling initiative since SOLE™ adopted it in 2008. With a network of roughly 1,800 Public Collection Partners in the US and Canada, ReCORK™ recycles used natural corks collected from restaurants, vineyards, tasting rooms, casinos and individuals and grinds them down to reuse in the production of footbeds and footwear.
