MIke is enjoying ealy retirement and does voluntary work as a STEM ambassador and recording engineer on community projects.During 30 years in waste management, Mike developed wide ranging project direction, management, and technical experience with particular emphasis on the control, management and treatment of wastes, treatment technologies, procurement, waste and recycling strategies. He served on the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, Science and Technology Committee. Mike advised Zero Waste Scotland on preparation of procurement documents for the National Materials Brokerage Service (ZWS , Scottish Government and Scottish Local Authorities). He also supported the City of Johannesburg, South Africa as a technical adviser on the feasibility and procurement of waste technology options for the treatment of residual wastes. The project involved provision of waste infrastructure to serve a population of approximately 4 million people and 2 million tonnes of residual waste. Prior to his early retirement Mike worked with Viridor, assisting the asset management and engineering team with waste infrastructure,engineering and treatment related issues.
