School has had a name change and rebrand from September 2024

Involved in unpaid (all part-time) voluntary work as a Member Nominated Trustee on the trustee board of National Association of Head Teachers Staff Pension Scheme and a governor (co-opted) (Vice-chair) in a large local primary school. Plus walking behind a mower or sitting on a roller. A very therapeutic role and a way of keeping involved as I no longer play. I am currently secretary of the club, but in years past have undertaken the roles of chair, captain, fixtures secretary and treasurer.Up to 20 September 2023 I was an appointed (by Department of Education (Northern Ireland)) representative on the Northern Ireland Teachers' Pension Scheme, Pension Board. Sadly I decided to resign the role which I thoroughly enjoyed, because my former employer: NAHT who nominated me for the role some 8 years ago. Furthermore, even though I provided them with full details of meetings etc I received no acknowledgement or support from them.

Specialist Adviser - primarily teachers' pensions - I advised members (individual or in a group) wherever they resided in the world as well as representing and presenting to groups of members on the provisions, the benefits as well as warning as to the potential 'trip wires' relating to both the Teachers' Pensions and Local Government Pension Schemes. This role including much counselling on all areas of teachers' retirement and how would best seek to seek retire on grounds of ill health.

I worked in ESCC Education Department from August 1964 during which I undertook a number of roles receiving merit promotions throughout culminations in my role as a Personnel Officer.
